How to choose shoes for your baby?

Your baby’s leg will grow to the middle, or even to the end of adolescence. Not everyone knows that the feet of a newborn consist of an incomplete set of bones, and the foot is completely formed only by three years, and the arch of the foot develops to about two years. That is why it is very important that at this age, the baby’s feet are shod with good shoes that will ensure the proper growth and development of the baby’s feet.

Choosing shoes

Newborns: Until your child begins to crawl and move, to ensure the healthy development of his feet, experts recommend not burdening the feet with shoes. To protect from the cold, you can use socks and booties, provided that they fit the child in size and do not constrain his legs. Even short sliders and overalls can harm the baby’s feet.

Crawling toddlers: Shoes, crawling baby should be soft, fingers can be protected by a rubber insert. However, you should make sure that the shoes do not prevent the baby from crawling and does not constrain his fingers when trying to get up.

Kids starting to walk: As soon as your child starts to walk confidently, you need to buy him real shoes that will protect his feet. However, experts still recommend that a child walk without shoes as much as possible, this is safe and contributes to the development of healthy legs.

When buying shoes, prefer a good shoe store, accurately measure the length and width of the feet of the baby. This ensures that you get the most suitable shoes. Open shoes should be strong, preferably of soft leather, with a sole that does not slip. Fingers of your child should not be tightly in the shoes, also lifting shoes should be high enough and in any case not to infringe the feet of the child.

Babies starting to crawl should measure their legs every 6-8 weeks, older children - once every 3-4 months.

Baby feet care

Your baby’s feet should be clean, with short fingernails. It is more important for the development of the feet. Remember that children's feet tend to sweat more than the feet of adults, and their nails tend to grow faster. Therefore, it will not be superfluous to inspect the baby’s feet every time during the hygiene procedures. Pay attention to the presence of red spots and blisters, which may indicate that your child’s shoes do not fit them. If you find blisters, in no case do not open them, you risk introducing an infection.

Children can be naughty when you inspect their legs or cut their nails, if so, try to do it when they sleep. For example, you make a long journey in a car, and suspect that your child may fall asleep while traveling, so take off his shoes and socks before he falls asleep. You may have a few minutes to take care of his feet while he is in blissful ignorance.

Some common problems

Inward and outward:Some children start walking, clubbing and put one or both feet in or out of the boys. This usually goes away by itself, but if you are worried, or if the problem persists for a long time, consult your doctor or caregiver.

Ingrown nails:red or swollen skin near the nail plate may indicate that your child’s abnormally growing nail.To avoid this, cut your nails straight and leave no sharp corners. If your baby's nails are constantly growing, consult your doctor.

Viral pemphigus of the mouth and limbs:this disease has nothing to do with pets, it is a common viral infection that causes blisters in the mouth, on the palms and soles of the feet. The disease is contagious and most kindergartens will insist that the children stay at home until the blisters pass. Blisters on the hands, feet, and mouth may be accompanied by photophobia, but in general, the disease is safe and all symptoms disappear within a few days without treatment.
